Description:
A UAC base where they were utilizing geothermal energy to power their dark experiments… 
Originally, I wasn't going to submit a map for this contest. Not because I didn't want to, I very much did, but time is at a premium these days, and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to squeeze in the time to make something properly. However, a day before the deadline, some time opened up. So I decided to use it not only as an opportunity to share my craft with the larger Doom community, but also a chance to test out some textures I have been making for a game I am developing. 
So, all of the textures in this map are handmade by myself. Not a single base game texture appears in this level (outside of F_Sky, which was just used to set the skybox). I also created the music track you hear during the level, which I tried to use to further sell the dark and somewhat crushing atmosphere of the environment.
